In order to improve the response speed of thermocouples during temperature measurement, Swaged Mineral Insulated Thermocouples  are often used. This special structural design enables the thermocouple to quickly convert the change into an electrical signal when the temperature of the object being measured changes. Type K thermocouple wire is the most common thermocouple conductor(≥500℃), it has a good resistance against oxidation and can be recommended for oxidizing and inert atmospheres.Type K thermocouple wire can not be used in sulphurous and vacuum atmospheres directly at a high temperature,as this will have a significant impact on the EMF values. The composition of positive(KP) is Ni90Cr10, negative(KN) is Ni97Si3 for Type K thermocouple wire .

Mineral insulated thermocouple cable is used to insulate thermocouple wires from one another and from the metal sheath that surrounds them. Mineral insulated thermocouple cable has two (or four when duplex) thermocouple wires running down the middle of the tube. The tube is then filled with magnesium oxide powder and compacted to ensure the wires are properly insulated and separated. Mineral insulated thermocouple cable helps to protect the thermocouple wire from corrosion and electrical interference.
